Energy Transformations

Below there are many links on studying energy transformations and forms. Remember that all energy is conserved--it is not destroyed--simply transformed from one form to another. However, efficiency plays a role in energy transformations. All of the energy in coal--when it is burned for making steam to turn a turbine---does not transfer directly into electricity. Much of the stored energy in coal is transformed into other forms along the way to making electricity; only a small percentage of the stored energy actually "makes" electricity.

Simple Machines

Click the following link and play through a game using various simple machines. Use your ear buds if you wish to listen to the sounds with the class.

Then go to this site:

When you complete the first games, you may go to this game:
http://www.edheads.org/activities/simple-machines/

PRE_AP: Go to this page on simple machines.

If you complete the simple machine games, you may go to the following site to review speed graphing.

Our physics test is starting April 10, so you need to study every night for at least 15 minutes.
The test will include potential vs kinetic energy and graphing motion in distance-time graphs.
